Smoothing and Re-texturizing Treatments in Pasadena

We offer two primary smoothing treatments at Bokaos: the Brazilian Blowout and professional Keratin treatments. Both reduce frizz, cut down styling time, and leave your hair smooth and manageable for weeks or months. The right choice depends on your hair type, your texture goals, and how much maintenance you want.

Brazilian Blowout vs. Keratin Treatment

Brazilian Blowout: A liquid keratin formula that bonds to the hair with heat from a flat iron. The treatment takes about 90 minutes and results are immediate. You can wash your hair the same day. A Brazilian Blowout smooths frizz, adds shine, and improves manageability for 10 to 12 weeks. It does not permanently straighten your hair. Your natural wave or curl pattern returns gradually as the treatment fades. Pricing starts at $200.

Keratin Treatment: A deeper, longer-lasting smoothing treatment. The keratin formula saturates the hair and is sealed with heat. Processing time is 2 to 3 hours. You typically cannot wash your hair for 48 to 72 hours after treatment. Results last 3 to 5 months depending on your hair type and how often you wash. A keratin treatment provides more dramatic smoothing than a Brazilian Blowout and is better suited for very coarse or curly hair. Pricing starts at $250.

Deep Conditioning and Repair Treatments

Beyond smoothing, we offer Aveda Botanical Therapy treatments for damaged, dry, or stressed hair. These plant-powered treatments restore moisture, repair structure, and improve elasticity. They pair well with color services and are recommended after any chemical process.

We also offer K18 molecular repair treatments and Olaplex bond-building services as standalone treatments or add-ons to color and smoothing services. If your hair has been through a lot, these treatments rebuild it from the inside out.
