Parts + Labor Pricing Policy

Honest. Transparent. Professional.

At Bokaos Salon, we are committed to operating with integrity and clarity—in our service, in our client relationships, and in our pricing. That’s why we use a Parts + Labor pricing system: a modern, transparent approach to salon pricing that separates the cost of the stylist’s time from the cost of the products used.

This method ensures that clients only pay for what they receive, and stylists are properly compensated for their time, creativity, and expertise.

What is Parts + Labor Pricing?

LABOR: This is the time and talent of the stylist. It’s charged either by the hour or by a set base rate depending on the stylist’s level and the services performed. It reflects the value of your professional service, not the cost of materials.

PARTS: This includes all product used—such as hair color, lightener, gloss, bond builders, and other salon-grade materials. Product usage is measured and charged separately, with no
markup, and based entirely on what is used during the service.

This system is client-centered and fair. A guest with fine, short hair will no longer pay the
same as someone with long, thick hair. Guests pay for the product actually used—nothing more, nothing less.

Why This Matters

● Clients pay accurately: They’re billed based on time spent and product used, making pricing feel clear and fair.

● Stylists are protected: You’re no longer covering product overages out of your pocket. You’re paid fairly for your time.

● The salon operates transparently: No hidden fees, no awkward pricing surprises.

Stylist Expectations

To ensure consistency and professionalism, all stylists must:

● Track product usage accurately during every service using the designated system (SalonScale, Vish, or manual logging as directed).

● Communicate clearly with clients about pricing during consultations, especially when product usage or timing may affect total cost.

● Keep client records updated, including color formulas, notes, and service history.

● Uphold Bokaos Aveda’s standards of transparency, fairness, and professionalism in every appointment.

Client Communication Guidelines

You are encouraged to educate clients on this model by using simple, honest language: “At Bokaos, we use a Parts + Labor system. That means you’re only paying for the exact amount of product I use on your hair, plus my time as a stylist. It’s fairer for you and more transparent all around.”

Accountability

Failure to log product usage, communicate pricing clearly, or adhere to this pricing model may result in:

● Client dissatisfaction or pricing disputes
● Inaccurate service records
● Loss of trust or credibility
● Formal coaching, loss of privileges, or removal from the schedule

This model only works when everyone respects it, and at Bokaos Aveda, we’re proud to lead with honesty. If you have additional questions on the cost of Parts + Labor at Bokaos, please ask your manager, senior, or the owner.
